The organizers of the China Fisheries & Seafood Expo (CFSE), following the lead of all key industry events, have announced the postponement of Asia's largest seafood and fisheries exhibition, originally scheduled for October 2020. The CFSE is being rescheduled due to the unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic. The 25th Anniversary China Fisheries & Seafood Expo will be held on October 27-29, 2021.

While the Covid-19 pandemic has been effectively contained in China for months, there are still minor recurrences in some Chinese cities. But the biggest issues for holding CFSE this year, say the organizers, were the ongoing travel bans, quarantine requirements and resurgence of the virus in some countries. “It was a hard decision to make, but at the end of the day we feel it was the right one,” says Peter Redmayne, President of Sea Fare Expositions, Inc., the Overseas Co-organizer of CFSE.

Thanks to the daily analysis of the current world situation, the organizer of the Russian national pavilion agreed to refuse to participate of in China Fisheries & Seafood Expo long before the official statement from the organizers of the exhibition and government agencies.

“It is very important for us that the event for our exhibitors is held at the highest level, but we cannot guarantee this level due to the pandemic. We are clear-headed about the situation, and our baseline scenario does not imply a significant improvement in the epidemiological situation in the world, ”said Ivan Fetisov, CEO of the branch exhibition operator Expo Solutions Group.

China Fisheries & Seafood Expo has been an important trade event for the global seafood industry to grow their business in the world’s largest and fastest growing seafood market for 25 years. Over 40,000 seafood buyers from 99 countries did business with about 1,600 exhibitors from 53 countries at CFSE 2019.
