Increase in Russian seafood exports will begin with Europe

The world's largest industry exhibition in Belgium will be attended by a record number of Russian owners of a fishing business – 23 companies.

On May 7-9, the 27th international European exhibition Seafood Expo Global & Seafood Processing Global will take place in Brussels. The event will be attended by about 2,000 companies from around the world and at least 30,000 visitors.

The fishermen will participate as the Russian national pavilion for the fourth time; and compared to the past years, the exhibition will be the most extensive in terms of the number of participants.

The Russian national pavilion is organized under the auspices of the Federal Agency for Fisheries by the exhibition company Expo Solutions Group.

Fishing enterprises from the far Eastern and North-Western regions of Russia will constitute the basis of the Russian exposition, the total area of which is about 700 square meters. They include key industry players and traditional participants of the Brussels exhibition: Norebo, Antey, F.E.S.T., YKRK (Yuzhno-Kyrilsky Fish Factory), NBAMR, Russian Fishery Company, Sirius, Dikiy Ulov. All of the above companies will present products of high-level processing – fillets of salmon and white fish, preserves, canned food. Group of companies Antey will come out with a new line of products from Iwashi sardine branded Russkaya Rybnaya Faktoriya.

“In Brussels, the exhibitors will present fish products, which are the most interesting for the European market. The analysis of our consulting division of Fishery Strategy Consulting shows that there is a trend in Europe for the finished and semi-finished products”, said Ivan Fetisov, Director General of Expo Solutions Group. “In addition, for the implementation of the task set by the Ministry of Agriculture to increase the export of fish and seafood, the main hopes are put on the products of high-level processing”. The newcomers in the national stand are: Tymlatsky Fish Factory, North-Kurilsk Base of Seiner Fleet, Defa, Collective farm fishery by V.I. Lenin, Collective farm fishery by V.I. Kalinin.

For the first time this year, companies representing fishery equipment will join fishing companies. These are Kaliningrad manufacturer Rybtehcentr and supplier of components Baltmechcom. The companies will unite on the stand of the Kaliningrad Chamber of Commerce and Industry together with the distributor company MaxiFish, which will also take part in the exhibition for the first time.

The Murmansk region fishermen will also come out as part of the stand of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of this region. Together with the Export Development Center, four companies will present their achievements: Barentsmoreprodukt, Agama, Variant and Arctic Holding.

For the first time, the Export Development Center of Primorsky Krai will be presented to the European public, its stand will include three enterprises specializing in mariculture and seafood supply – Kamchatskiy Meridian, Pacific Sealord and Asia Pacific Seafood Company.

An extensive business program will be organized at the Russian stand, involving European companies interested in close cooperation with Russian suppliers.
