The organizing committee of the Global Fishery Forum & Seafood Expo Russia has approved the event’s business program.

On the first day, leading Russian and foreign experts and heads of international organizations will discuss the pandemic’s impact on the industry during a plenary session. The program will continue with two roundtables on ways to promote fish consumption in Russia and organize high-quality storage and logistics.

The second day will be entirely devoted to aquaculture. After an international conference and discussion of issues concerning global fish and seafood production, a discussion will be held on the practical aspects of the activities of Russian fishery enterprises.

The third day topics include science, staffing issues, education, and the involvement of young people in the fishing industry.

International experts with highly interesting experience in global events in the industry are invited to participate in the discussion as speakers. To date, the heads of relevant ministries from Iceland, the Faroe Islands, and Turkey have confirmed they will take part in the event.

The Forum will be attended by representatives of international supranational organizations: UN Food and Agriculture Organization Assistant Director-General and Regional Representative for Europe and Central Asia Vladimir Rakhmanin, Marine Stewardship Council Chief Executive Rupert Howes, and World Wildlife Fund in Russia Director Dmitry Gorshkov.

In addition to traditional presentations and master classes at exhibitors’ booths, the Expo’s business program includes business meetings as well as an open meeting with representatives of the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision on the export of fish products, a meeting with members of the Association of Food Sector Organizations on ways to optimize the cost of transporting fish, a discussion of modern solutions for refrigeration equipment, and a conference of the Maritime Register of Shipping. The UN Food and Agriculture Organization will hold several events during which it will announce a new publication on fishing in Russian waters and discuss issues related to the organization’s activities for Russian fisheries enterprises.

The IV Global Fishery Forum & Seafood Expo Russia 2021 is the largest event in the Russian fishing industry. It is organized by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture and the Federal Agency for Fishery. The event will take place on 6-8 July 2021 at the Expoforum Exhibition and Convention Centre in St. Petersburg and will be the first major fishing industry event in the world since the outbreak of the pandemic.
