Logistic at Seafood Expo Russia 2021
19 April 2021

According to the Russian Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat), the catching volume in 2020 increased by 1.2 % and amounted to almost 5 million tons. But while the catching rates are growing, the level of fish and seafood consumption in Russia is decreasing. According to Russian Federal Fishery Agency’s data, in 2019 the consumption of fish and seafood decreased by 9.1 kg per person/year. In 2020 pandemic also contributed to the situation. That is why one of the high-priority tasks for now is to popularize fish and seafood consumption among the population.

The key role in providing country with the necessary amount of fish products plays effective logistics chain which includes: appropriate storage and transportation conditions, necessary temperature regime, speed of delivery and processing equipment. The profit of fisheries companies directly depends on the storage conditions and time spend on transportation. Because of difficulties which follow fish from catching in the sea till final delivery, companies may suffer extra losses which influence on final price. That is why it is very important for biggest fishery companies to find a reliable logistic partner.

Large retail chains are talking about the importance of appropriate transportation of fish because it influences on the raw material's quality. If it will be low, fish and seafood would not reach the final consumer. Delivering raw materials and processed products is a hard task to do. Logistic companies have to be sensitive to all trends and modern technologies related to the equipment involved in storage and transportation.

The main event of the Russian fishery industry is the Global Fishery Forum & Seafood Expo Russia. This is the place where company’s representatives and top-management meet every year to learn about recent innovations, find new customers and partners, sign contracts and share experience. The Forum and Exhibition are the key platform for dialogue between all representatives directly or indirectly related to the fishery industry. In 2021, the event will be held on July 6-8, 2021 in St. Petersburg at the Expoforum Exhibition Center.

Logistics will be one of the most significant areas of the exhibition. Without companies providing logistics services, the event could not be consistent because they are the link between fishermen and consumers.

According to the organizers, logistic section has always been very popular. And this year would not be an exception. Global Fishery Forum & Seafood Expo Russia has already gained the support of the largest logistics center Maximikha Industrial Complex, as well as the Association of Refrigerated Rolling Stock Operators (ARRSO). Traditional sector's participants are Seroglazka terminal, Dalreftrans, Far Eastern Logistics Center, VladRefTrans, Seatrade Baltic. Meridian Service and SKIF-Logistics will exhibit for the first time.

The Organizing Committee invites representatives of the logistics sector to participate and present their services at the largest event of the Russian fishery industry!
